An 18-minute avant-garde performance at Rhimes Performing Arts Center (RPAC), delving into the themes of Juneteenth through ancestral movement art intertwined with modern street styles. Immerse yourself in an original odyssey as movement artists take the stage, accompanied by music excerpts from Beyoncé, Daniel Bernard Roumain, Zack Hemsey, and Dr. Marcus Norris. The performance will also feature voice excerpts by Dr. Thema Bryant, Former Slave Recordings, and Kehinde Wiley. Led by Choreographer and Movement Composer Friidom, this piece promises an abstract display of avant-garde music and movement, exploring the rich cultural heritage and profound significance of the spirit of Juneteenth.

A movement conversation, session, battle, perspective and artistic analysis on recent hip-hop events. I grew up on the artists and sound; but as I get older my tastes have changed.
