Homer was a legendary Greek author said to have been

“the greatest poet of all time,”

but by whose standard?

Fast forward to the 21st century: our world has changed quite a bit and looks a little different than what Homer would’ve imagined.

Now, more than ever, we need a representative that looks like us. we need an author to share our story. The tales of our perils, victories and heroes—our daily Odyssey.

In honor of black history month, we explore an alternative window through Homer’s works using “Epiic” poetry in motion. We all individually hold our own Odyssey within our lives on this Earth. This will be a fantastical telling of Friidom’s real-life journey as he fights, endures, and evolves into Black homer—forever immortalized and honored, our EPIIC storyteller.
